Herman Ilfeld House 1029 7th Street; Built 1902-08
Charles Ilfeld's son, Herman, built this impressive, Georgian Revival mansion. The giant, two story pilasters supporting a central pediemented gave are typical of the Georgian era (after King George III of England) of American colonial architecture, 1700-80 In this revival-style house, large scale and the classical architectural
features dominate.
Charles Ilfeld established a mercantile empire here after 1867, and his family is responsible for some of Las Vegas' finest architecture.
